Cathedral Church of Saint Gregory the Enlightener (Goris)

Cathedral Church of Saint Gregory the Enlightener in Goris is famous for proclaiming Garegin Nzhde Sparapet there in 1921; it functioned from 1904 to 1926 and reopened in December 1989 after a long break. The consecration took place in 1903 under Catholicos Hrimaian. Previously, the building served as a geological museum. Construction was prompted by the inconvenience of visiting the old church in Old Goris. Additionally, Garegin's wedding to Goar Dadalyan occurred here in 1920.
