Big Tatavez Monastery

Big Tatev Monastery is situated on the right bank of the Vorotan River, near the city of Goris. The monastery arose after a devastating earthquake in 1658 when monks left the old Habitat Kharants and founded a new site at the foot of Tatev Monastery.
