Holy Mother of God Yot Vork Cathedral

The Cathedral of Holy Mother of God Yot Verk is situated on Vardanyan Square in Gyumri city. Also known as "Seven Wounds", it is the main church of this square. Built in the 19th century during the time when the city was called Alexandropol. Visited by Pope Francis together with Catholicos Garegin II in June 2016. The temple serves as the cathedral center of Shirak Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church and remains an important spiritual and architectural attraction of the city. Its name is connected to venerated icon "Seven Wounds of the Virgin Mary".
