Marmarés Monastery

Marmachenski monastery is located near Gyumri, in Vagramaberd village of Shirak region. Its main church, built by Prince Vagram Pahlevuni in the X-XI centuries, stands out with its harmonious architecture made from red tufa. Situated by the Aghstev River, the monastery impresses with its picturesque location. Despite earthquake damage, it retains the expressiveness of medieval appearance and is an important shrine of the region.
