Kecharies

Monastic complex Kechariz in Tsakhkadzor - an important medieval Armenian religious center. Includes three main churches (Surb Grigor, Surb Nshan, Katogike), two chapels (Surb Arakun), gavit built from basalt in the XI-XIII centuries. There is also a separate church dedicated to Saint Arakun. Known for having hosted monk Hakob Kechareci who lived and wrote "Lament" here in 1295. Today the complex serves as a cultural symbol of the city and blends harmoniously with its ski infrastructure.
