Gilli Nature Reserve

Sevan National Park, mouth of Gilli canal and Masrik and Gegamasar rivers

Gilly Nature Reserve is situated in the southeastern part of Sevan National Park. Its area totals 1,810 hectares, including 1,325 hectares of land and 485 hectares of water surface. The primary goal of the reserve is to protect spawning grounds for valuable and rare fish species, as well as to preserve nesting areas for birds. It encompasses the mouths of Gilly Canal and rivers Masrik and Gegamasar.
