Noraدوز Khachkar Cemetery

Khachkar Cemetery Noraduz is situated near the western shore of Lake Sevan, in the village of Noraduz. It is the largest open-air museum featuring over 900 carved stone crosses from the 13th to 17th centuries. Many crosses are adorned with images of sun disks, floral patterns, grapes, pomegranates and leaves. After the loss of other khachkar cemeteries, Noraduz became an important site for preserving medieval Armenian culture. A typical route around the lake includes visiting Sevan, Avairavank Monastery and Noraduz necropolis.
