Zvartnots Cathedral Ruins

The ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral are situated near Vagarshapat city and were included in UNESCO's World Heritage List since 2000. This is a monument of central dome Armenian architecture, destroyed in the 10th century presumably due to an earthquake. Today only archaeological remains and fragments of stone structures have been preserved. The site belongs to the state and serves as an important example of the development of Armenian church architecture.
