King Trdat Gates

The Gates of King Trdat are situated near the open altar of Saint King Trdat in Vagarshapat. They were built in the traditional architectural style of Echmiadzin Monastery and serve as an entrance to its grounds. These gates were constructed to commemorate the 1700th anniversary of Armenia's adoption of Christianity. Their primary function is to organize space for conducting church ceremonies and gatherings of believers.
