Haghartn Church
Вагаршапат, центр города, севернее Матери-престола
The Church of Holy Mother in Vagarshapat, built in 1767 by order of Catholicos Simon I Ervantsi, is an architectural monument of the 18th century. It is located in the center of the city near the historical complex Echmiadzin. Previously, there was a wooden church from the 16th century. Architecturally, it is a one-nave basilica without a dome, differing from traditional domed churches in the region. From 1996 to 2014, the temple served as the cathedral of the Armavir Diocese.
