Saint Gevork Monastery

St. Gevorg Monastery is situated in Vagarshapat city on Issy-le-Mulino street. The Church of St. Gevorg built in 630 represents an early example of architecture combining a three-nave basilica with a central dome; in 1688 it was extended with a three-arched porch, and in 1764 adjacent to it there was constructed underground storage room "magac" for food products. The monastery was listed as UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Site in 2000 and underwent partial restoration works in 2004.
