Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin Cathedral

Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin is situated in Vagarshapat city and serves as the principal church of Armenian Apostolic Church. It is included in UNESCO's World Heritage List together with Saint Gevork, Saint Ripsime Churches, Shoghakat and Zvartnots Monument. The cathedral hosts the residence of Catholicos of All Armenians. In 2000 it was also designated as a world cultural heritage site. Restoration works on its roof, interior and floor of the prayer hall took place between 2001-2008.
