Zvartnots Cathedral

Zvartnots Temple located near Vagharshapat is the ruins of an ancient round cathedral from the 7th century built between 641 and 652 by Catholicos Nerses III the Builder. The name translates to "temple of vigilant angels". The site is inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List together with Echmiadzin churches. Zvartnots played a significant role in the development of Armenian and Caucasian architecture.
