Khachkar Monuments of Echmiadzin
Vagharshapat, territory of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin
On the grounds of the First Capital Echmiadzin in Vagarshapat there are khachkars - Armenian stone slabs with carved crosses. Among them stands out the khachkar of master Momik from Noravank (1308 AD) and the khachkar from Artsakh (1640 AD). These monuments are an important part of the spiritual and artistic culture of Armenian churches.
